This last week has been quite the surreal experience. On Tuesday the very first printing of the very first issue of my very first comic* arrived at the door. I got out of college and four months later I have a comic book, I can't complain. Check out RAGGED RIDER: TALES OF A COWBOY MUMMY and keep up to date on short stories, full issues, and news as it happens here.
If that wasn't enough, a year ago I was at Ohio Comic Con as a patron and was lucky enough to talk to Chris Sprouse and his wife as well as get some feedback on my art. Back then Cowboy Mummy was still a concept in development and while we planned to turn it into a comic book, nothing was really planned. They seemed to really enjoy what we were working with and a year later I joined up with MC Wolfman and was at Ohio Comic Con as an artist. I met some great people, got some nice feedback, sold some issues of RAGGED RIDER, so thanks everyone who came out or ran into me. I hope to see you at more shows (I know MC Wolfman and I were talking about where to head next) and thanks a lot for the support. I absolutely love what I do but it really raises it ten-fold when others like what I do too.
If you're just now joining us, don't forget to check out the links to your right if you like Facebook, tumblr, twitter, LinkedIn, deviantART, and/or Behance. I try to get everything everywhere but six sites are hard to maintain. You'll get more of the business side at LinkedIn while you'll get more of the casual side on twitter. Facebook is a nice middle ground between news and sketches while I seem to get a lot of art on tumblr. It's like a crazy art version of Whack-A-Mole!, where's the next piece gonna pop up?
Also, like I mentioned last post, Ed Hawkins and I have a great story cooking for his webcomic Roninspoon Theater where he's been putting up previews. You should have the whole story sooner than later and we're both really excited about it. It has been a great challenge for me and I've really fell in love with some of the panels I've put together for it.
I think I'm just going to have to keep this as a news post for now. I've got the Mix 2012 Comics Symposium presented by CCAD coming up this weekend (where RAGGED RIDER: TALES OF A COWBOY MUMMY #1 will be available for purchase and perhaps a few prints of mine) so I'll have access to a bigger scanner to get some of the art that was done at Ohio Comic Con scanned and uploaded. So stay tuned, and if you're in Columbus next weekend, register for Mix 2012 with special guest Chris Ware, it seems to be shaping up to be a great event.
That should be all (aside from the art I need to scan in and put up), so have a good one and thanks for the support!
