Ohio Comic Con is this weekend from Friday, September 28th to Sunday, September 30th. You can find me there not just walking the floor getting great deals on trades or mingling with other creators but behind a booth with M.C. Wolfman. I'll be taking commissions, sketch cards, selling prints, and you'll have the opportunity to pick up the very first printing of RAGGED RIDER: TALES OF A COWBOY MUMMY #1. If money is scarce Andrew Meyerheofer and I have prepared a little short story I'll be giving out for free as well as some small doodles for anyone interested. So stop by and chat us up, I know M.C. Wolfman is going to have some great prints for sale too.
So now that RAGGED RIDER: TALES OF A COWBOY MUMMY #1 is done, what am I up to? Well, Andrew and I are working on some short stories to keep you entertained that will go up on the brand new (and still under construction) Cowboy Mummy website! So keep up to date with news, doodles, short stories, and some other fun stuff in the future.
While all that's going on, I have some other interesting stories I'm working on:
CORNER SHOT, NO MAGIC - I'm currently working on this story, from Ed Hawkins, for his anthology webcomic Roninspoon Theater. He just put up some early character designs today (and I hear some page previews next week) so hop over there, check 'em out, and read some of his other short stories. Then stay tuned as I'm hoping finish up the pencils next week and get those inks out shortly thereafter. Then they'll go up a page a week after that.
HYBRID PROJECT - I'm currently talking with someone to work on a story by multiple contributing artists and writers which I will definitely be able to talk about early next year. It's a really interesting idea and I'm excited to see where it takes me. I've only done a little character sketch for a warm-up drawing awhile back, but more art, as well as info, should come eventually.
GANYMEDE: PART ONE OF A SPACE ANTHOLOGY - This one is a little past just the concept stage and there are actual stories written, but I'm very excited. I'm adapting some short science fiction stories I've written and putting three each in each part. This is pretty much a personal side project from RAGGED RIDER and other projects but the final product in my head looks really sweet. I'm hoping to have this ready for (the appropriately named) SPACE next year.
Finally, I know I said daily sketches would start up last week, but I think I'm going to move them to next week. Once all this Ohio Comic Con and Ragged Rider stuff gets dealt with and sorted and everything I'll let off some stress and not feel as crunched for time. So I'm not sure if you're excited for me to start them back up again, but I am.
