Links, Art, and S.P.A.C.E.

If you're looking for artwork, you will certainly see some down below, but you might be interested in keeping up with me on other parts of the web. I'm not sure what it is about this site, but I always feel like a blog post should BE something. I can't just throw a daily sketch up here and when a new RAGGED RIDER: SHORT TALE OF A COWBOY MUMMY comes out I'm so busy throwing that everywhere else and making sure that's all in order that I guess I don't really think of my blog. I keep saying this (and I keep saying that) but I'm hoping to sit down with this at least a few times a month and keep the people who check this out updated more often.

So, with that said, you can be sure to be on top of things more frequently by staying up with my Tumblr, Twitter, and Facebook page, and for those RAGGED RIDER fans, keep up to date with that website and Facebook. Onto the artwork!

INFESTATION Work (Written by Ed Hawkins for Roninspoon Theater)

There's also another project I'm working on that I'm excited to show some things from, but I should talk to the writers first to make sure they don't mind. Perhaps you'll get a glimpse into that comic on the next post.

In other news, come check Andrew and me out at S.P.A.C.E. this year! We'll have our 3rd printing of our first issue: THE DEAD MAN'S HAND that you can pick up if you haven't grabbed your own copy yet. We also have a sketch variant coming with that printing that you will be able to pick up and get a/some sketch(es) on. We'll have our DOODLE DAWDLIN' short as well as the others. Stop by, grab some reading material, chat us up, and get some sketches/commissions/prints at S.P.A.C.E. Last thing: Time permitting, you might even be able to pick up a newly printed sketchbook from me.

Wow! A whole month! ...Anyways...

CORNER SHOT, NO MAGIC has updated this Monday like it does every Monday so if you haven't been over to Roninspoon Theater and get caught up on the webcomic from Ed Hawkins and me.

Since it's the holiday season, Andrew and I are putting up the first issue of RAGGED RIDER: TALES OF A COWBOY MUMMY is up at issuu and will be up until around the end of the month. If you haven't had a chance to get your own copy check it out and pass it on.

As for personal projects, I've been playing with color recently and I think I'm finally settling in on something I like. I've always enjoyed a graphic look when it comes to coloring (e.g. Dave Stewart on The Umbrella Academy, Bill Crabtree on Mud Man, Ronda Pattison on Atomic Robo), though I think I've found a nice mix.

Happy Halloween News

If you're in Canton or Canal Fulton, Ohio today stop by Toys Time Forgot and/or Bill's Books and More to grab the Ragged Rider: Short Tales of  Cowboy Mummy Halloween Special: "The Poultry-Geist" as well as some other find comic books including the first issue of Ragged Rider. I know Toys Time Forgot is giving out some comics for Halloween and Bill's Books and More are doing a big Halloween sale starring Daryll Banks (and Andrew Meyerheofer and Me). So stop by and if you catch us say "Hi" and if I have space I'll do a little doodle for you!

In other news, if you haven't checked Roninspoon Theater this week be sure to read the latest page of "Corner Shot, No Magic" from Ed Hawkins and Me. We're getting into dialogue and Nadine's true intentions are seeping through. How Exciting.

Also, as I said before I started work on another project for Ed and Roninspoon Theater and I'm having a blast doing designs and sketches for it. I can't wait to show them!

And to leave you with something since I'm not sure when I'll be able to get a daily sketch up today, if you missed yesterday's, here's Filch from Mice & Mystics, a great boardgame by Jerry Hawthorne and Plaid Hat Games in sketch form, colored form, and time lapse form.

Oh, also, since it's Halloween, be sure to get your mummy fix with Ragged Rider: Tales of a Cowboy Mummy!

News: 10/22/12

I accidentally said that Toys Time Forgot and Bill's Books and more were doing their Halloween events on Saturday, October 27th when in fact they will both have it on the date of Halloween: Wednesday, October 31st.

As it's Monday, Roninspoon Theater has put up the second page of "CORNER SHOT, NO MAGIC", a webcomic written by Ed Hawkins and drawn by me. It's quite a juxtaposition from the first page and you're going to want to buckle up for next week when page three starts the intensity.

In Ragged Rider news, get ready for a Halloween special, Short Tale of a Cowboy Mummy. It will be available on the Cowboy Mummy website digitally as well as if you're in the Canal Fulton or Canton, Ohio,  head over to Toys Time Forgot or Bill's Books and More and pick up some Halloween Treats in the form of  comics (Including Ragged Rider shorts) on Wednesday, October 31st. We're hoping to get to both stores for a time but I'll make another post with more info when we, ourselves, know more.

Also, did you see that Store page up there? I'm hoping to move to a digital store sometime, but at the moment that's the best I've got. So peruse some items and if you're interested in anything, send me an e-mail and I'll get the shipping and everything figured out.

Saturday Sketches: For the Week of 10/20/12

Running a Halloween theme with Universal's Monster movies (except the sailor and if you replace Universal's Imhotep with the Ragged Rider. Check out my new YouTube account to watch some time lapses of them.

I also have a YouTube channel.

I started recording my digital sketches and putting up time lapses on my Tumblr and Facebook (they'll get here eventually, in fact, I think I'll keep one in the Sketches page at the top, too), but they're now on my new YouTube channel.

If you want to see how I approach my sketches and get a look at how I work digitally, these should be fun for you. Heck, they're fun for me. Here's one, I've also put another in my Sketches page, and click the YouTube link to the right to see more.
